The heart is an organ of eternity

because

even the smallest piece of it could be broken again.

He sank into a leggy chair.

and raised her eyebrows.

It began to snow outside the windows and the room went dark;

a servant came and put a brass candlestick on the table.

And the words fell like snow

on the carpet near the armchairs and fireplace;

he realized that he would never write a tragedy –

that the words were killing it but continued to talk

because Semyonova was listening:
